Each space honours established church traditions through the subtle procession, of simple form, and rich materiality all constantly filled with daylight.
The church incorporates forms traditional to the vernacular while presenting a unique contemporary identity that is scaled appropriately encapsulates an enduring spirituality. It is a sacred place that is welcoming, distinct and enjoyed by visitors and worshipers alike. The design embodies a sense of permanence to reflect God’s constant presence among parishioners.
The strength of the design lies in the simplicity of built form; a sense of quiet permanence is created through the selection and detailing of the restricted natural material palette of rammed earth and timber, creating an atmosphere that is conducive to prayer, meditation and reflection.
