In a spirited showdown of smarts and generosity, architects, engineers, and planners came together for the annual Architects vs Engineers vs Planners Trivia Night on 3 July 2025 at the Darwin Trailer Boat Club. The event raised $2,102.26 and collected 64 kilograms of food in support of Foodbank NT鈥檚 School Breakfast Program, helping ensure thousands of Territory children start their day with a nutritious meal.听
Hosted by the Northern Territory Chapter of the 蜜桃影像, Engineers Australia Northern Division, and the Planning Institute of Australia, the trivia night drew over 90 attendees from across the built environment sector. The evening was not only a test of knowledge but a powerful demonstration of professional solidarity for a vital cause.听
Jack Barrett, a representative from Foodbank NT, shared that the funds raised will provide over 4,000 breakfast meals for students in need. 鈥淭his kind of community support makes a real difference in the lives of children, especially in remote areas鈥 Barrett said.听
Kayla Hall, Master of Ceremonies from Engineers Australia, highlighted the broader impact of Foodbank NT:听
鈥淔oodbank currently provides more than 60 tonnes of food relief each month, enough for 120,000 meals. Around 35 per cent of this is fresh fruit and vegetables, distributed free of charge. More than 15,000 people across the NT rely on Foodbank鈥檚 services monthly, including through our School Breakfast Program which supports 63 schools, with 48 in the Top End and 15 in Central Australia.鈥听
The trivia night has become a beloved annual tradition, with听Fulton Hogan听once again claiming the trophy. The challenge is officially on for 2026!听
A cheque presentation was held on 18 August at Engineers Australia, attended by NT Chapter Manager Karen Relph, Engineers Australia General Manager Jenny Jan, and representatives from all three professional bodies, including Sabella Fuss from the Planning Institute of Australia.听
This annual event continues to grow in popularity and impact, showcasing how collaboration across the built environment can drive meaningful change in the community.听
