Concessional membership fee application

The Institute’s National Council has endorsed the establishment of a concessional fee for members who have reduced working hours to care for children under 5 years of age. The reduced rate is applicable for up to two consecutive years, after which it must be re-applied for if required. This resolution is intended to ensure that members, who by virtue of a reduction in income due to taking parental leave, can remain as members and continue to be engaged with the Institute. Holders of this concessional fee also qualify for discounted access to national online CPD and selected programs. For further information contact membership@architecture.com.au

The Institute offers a concessional fee to members in the Member, Associate or Affiliate categories who work the equivalent of a 0.4 FTE.

By submitting this declaration, you declare that you meet the eligibility criteria for this fee concession, and spend no more than 2 days per week working in a built-environment related occupation.

The Institute provides a concessional fee to those who have reduced their working hours to further their education in the built environment. The reduced rate for these memberships is applicable for up to two consecutive years, after which it must be re-applied for if required. This resolution is intended to ensure that members, who by virtue of a reduction in income due to taking leave to undertake postgraduate study, can remain as members and continue to be engaged with the Institute.  For further information enquire at membership@architecture.com.au

The Institute offers a concessional fee to members who are substantially retired from the work force. Retired membership offers members the opportunity to continue their connection to the profession in retirement while enjoying the same rights and privileges of full membership, including the use of appropriate post-nominals.

This concessional fee is available to voting members who have retired from the work force by reasons pertaining to age, circumstance or health. This is defined as spending no more than 20% of time (or one day a week) on income earning activities. Applications are assessed by the Head of Membership Services or their delegate and the relevant Chapter Councils are notified of all approved applicants at the next scheduled Chapter Council meeting.

The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ allows special dispensation for members who are unable to pay the prescribed membership subscription fee by the due date owing to the financial impact of  prolonged ill-health, unemployment or performing carer’s duties. The decision to support this application for a full or partial fee waiver is at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer, and based on the detailed circumstances and supporting documentation provided.
